Vienna/Luxembourg, March 21st 2018 – HD Austria, M7 Group’s hybrid DTH television platform for Austria, reached 125.000 customers, representing an all-time record growth of 25% during the last 12 months. Furthermore, GfK reported that HD Austria represents more than 50% of all Austrian sales of CA modules with cards or “cardless technology”. Two important milestones in the history of HD Austria, which was introduced in 2010.
With 58% of all homes using satellite for television reception, Austria is after Ireland the country with the highest percentage of satellite TV users in Europe, leaving ample room for further growth. Furthermore, the high market penetration of fast internet usage provides great potential for the growth of HD Austria’s hybrid proposition, combining high quality linear satellite television with IP-based interactive services at attractive price levels.
